A Matter of Fate (Fate Series, #1)
Release Date: 08/30/12
Pages: 550
Format: ebook

Summary from Goodreads:

Chloe Lilywhite struggles with all the normal problems of a typical seventeen-year-old high school student. Only, Chloe isn't a normal teenage girl. She's a Magical, part of a secret race of beings who influence the universe. More importantly, she's a Creator, which means Fate mapped out her destiny long ago, from her college choice, to where she will live, to even her job. While her friends and relatives relish their future roles, Chloe resents the lack of say in her life, especially when she learns she's to be guarded against a vengeful group of beings bent on wiping out her kind. Their number one target? Chloe, of course.

That's nothing compared to the boy trouble she's gotten herself into. Because a guy she's literally dreamed of and loved her entire life, one she never knew truly existed, shows up in her math class, and with him comes a twin brother she finds herself inexplicably drawn to.

Chloe's once unyielding path now has a lot more choices than she ever thought possible.

My Review

A Matter of Fate is one of my favorite books now.  I am so glad I participated in this tour and had a chance to read this book.  The words I would use to describe this book are AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL and EPIC.  There wasn't anything I didn't like about this book. A Matter of Fate was a captivating story that had me hooked after the very first page.  I did not want to put this book down at all.  I couldn't.  I was so enthralled with the story that I had no clue what was going on around me.  I love the whole take on the Magicals.  That was interesting and I loved the story behind it.  Heather did a fantastic job on crafting a story so unlike others.  It's sunniness and originality gave it even more bonus points from me.  The world-building was on point and well crafted.  I felt as if I was there the entire time seeing what they were seeing.   I love this book.

Chloe is a one tier Magical.  She is a Creator which will eventually lead he to make some very hard decisions. Chloe has dreamed about this one boy since she was little until a year ago.  When he disappeared, it left her depressed and vulnerable.  She started questioning her life as a Magical and Creator.  All of a sudden, everything changes when Jonah enters her math classroom.  It is the boy from her dreams.  He also shows up along with his twin brother Kellan.  Chloe must also face the fact that she is a target and something out there is trying to kill powerful Magicals.  What will happen to Chloe and Jonah now that he has found her?  Will they discover who is killing off the Magicals?

I loved every character in this book.  Chloe was a kick butt character.  She didn't want to stand on the sidelines and watch everyone protect or.  She wanted to protect herself.  I also loved how she wanted to protect both brothers.  The love triangle in this story was crafted beautifully.  I must say that I love both brothers, but for her I would choose Jonah.  He is my favorite.  Love him to death.  They are soul mates and have a connection that is very rare.  He was so depressed like her until he found out she was real.  Jonah was hunting Chloe, because he loved her.  It was so sweet.  He won my heart over and over.  Kellan is a great guy as well.  He deserves happiness too, but I don't want him with Chloe.

A Matter of Fate is a book that I plan on definitely rereading.  I am really hoping that there is a sequel.  I need to see what happens with these characters.  They are some of my favorite characters.  They just seem so real and raw.  I was able to feel the emotion that they were portraying in the book.  Heather did a fantastic job with this story.  I loved everything about it.  A Matter of Fate is a MUST read everyone!!!  I highly recommend it!!!!
