Aurora Sky: Vampire Hunter by Nikki Jefford
Series: Aurora Sky: Vampire Hunter #1
Publication: December 9th 2012
Genre: YA Paranormal
Synopsis:
If there is one thing eighteen-year-old Aurora Sky wants, it’s to get off the iceberg she calls home. Being kissed before she graduates wouldn’t hurt either.
Then a near-fatal car wreck changes everything. Government agents step in and save Aurora’s life in exchange for her services as a vampire hunter. In Alaska. Basically she’s a glorified chew toy. All thanks to her rare blood type, which sends a vampire into temporary paralysis right before she has to finish the job… by hand.
Now Aurora’s only friends are groupies of the undead and the only boy she can think about may very well be a vampire. And if he’s a vampire, will she be forced to kill
him?
My Review
I loved, loved, loved this book. It completely took me by surprise. What I loved about the book was how Nikki used vampires and made completely made a whole new story with them. One I haven't read before. Being injected with the virus to turn into a vampire hunter was fantastic!!! Loved that!!! Transfusion was beautifully written and well crafted. I immediately fell in love with the characters, especially Fane and Aurora. I was able to connect with them easily. I loved how the story unraveled and how the secrets came out. I had my suspicions about Fane, but was still shocked when I found out.
Aurora had everything planned for the next few years. She got in Notre Dame and couldn't wait to start. All that changed after one tragic accident. She wakes up and finds out that her mom gave them the go ahead to do everything they wanted to keep her alive. So she has been injected with a virus and must get a shot every month. If she doesn't, she dies. Aurora had no choice in the matter at all. Fane starts hanging around her a lot and I really adored him. I was rooting for them since the beginning.
There were so many twists and turns in this book that it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. The ending left off with a cliffhanger that definitely left me wanting more. I really left me breathless!!! I want the sequel now!!! I love where the story is headed!!! I went ahead and bought this book on my kindle, becasue I loved it!!! It is a book that I would definitely reread. The characters really kick-butt in this book. Aurora is no damsel in distress. She really grows by the end of the book. Great job Nikki!!!
