In her desperate search, she meets Gabriel Stewart, a runaway with mysterious powers and far too many secrets. Rayne can’t explain her crazy need to trust the strange yet compelling boy—to touch him—to protect him even though he scares her.

A fanatical church secretly hunts psychic kids—gifted “Indigo” teens feared to be the next evolution of mankind—for reasons only “the Believers” know. Now Rayne’s only hope is Gabe, who is haunted by an awakening power—a force darker than either of them imagine—that could doom them
all.

My Review

I loved, loved, loved this book!!!!  This book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.  There were so many twists and turns that I didn't want to quit reading this book.  I almost called off work to finish it.  The story was beautifully written and well thought out.  Being drawn into a story is very important to me.  I want to be able to see what the characters see, feel what they feel.  Indigo Awakening did not disappoint.  I loved how Jordan crafted a story that just hooked me and didn't let go.

I loved that this book was about kids with powers. Different types of powers I always found books like that very interesting.  Rayne was an amazing character. I wouldn't have listened to my brother either.  I loved most of the characters in this story.  I was glad that the author switched POVs so I got to know them even better.  It is nice to get that little extra inside scoop.  Usually too many POVs would bug me, but it didn't in this story.  I wasn't confused at all with it.  I actually new who was talking the entire time.

Indigo Awakening was full of mystery, suspense, and was very action-packed.  I love reading books with strong characters, especially the females.  I want to see them strong and fight.  I really enjoyed reading this book.  The only little downfall I had with it was the romance.  There was a little something that may lead to something so I am hoping in the next book I get to see more of that.  I am a huge romance junkie!!!  Indigo Awakening is a book I definitely will reread.

Blog Tour Stop: altered by Aubrey Coletti: Review and Giveaway

Welcome to my stop on the altered blog tour.  This blog tour is hosted by AToMR Tours.  My stop includes my review of this book along with a giveaway.

Title: altered
Author: Aubrey Coletti
Publisher: Escape Artist Press
Publication: June 6th. 2012
Pages: 272
Format: paperback

Goodreads Synopsis

When Toni, Joseph and Charlie arrive at their new boarding school, they are glad to leave their families - and respective problems - behind. Isolated as boarders, they meet a handsome senior with a personality like iced snake's blood, teachers with a penchant for physical punishment, and four other outcasts who reveal that their being brought to the Academy wasn't random at all. When the arrivals discover that their new school is engaged in "behavior modification" through electric shocks, isolation, restraints, and an ever-evolving set of methods to "fix" them, they declare war on their Academy. During their campaign of sabotage, they fight, hate, scorn, love, and begin to uncover the reasons why they were brought to the school. But as their war against the school escalates beyond their control, will they become the very things the Academy believes they are: dangerous, delinquent - and mad?

My Review

I enjoyed reading reading alteredThis book was not what I expected at all.  I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.  I laughed, cried, screamed and even had those awe moments.  I love reading books that have to do with boarding schools.  Those types of books never seem to disappoint me.  This one didn't either.   altered was beautifully written and well thought out.  The originality of the book made it more interesting and enjoyale for me.  I haven't read another book like this one before.

I was very shocked to see what these teenagers had to go through.  I was in shock mode the entire time.  The characters were strong though and banded together to take down the academy. Got to love stories like that.  I loved how each character showed strength, but each character was different in his or her own way.  I became really attached to some of the characters in this book.

The only issues that I had with altered was the lack of use of descriptions.  I love being brought into a story with the characters and see what they see, feel what they feel.  There were some parts of the story that I would have enjoyed seeing more of.  I also had a lot of trouble with how fast the POVs kept switching.  It took me a little while to actually figure out who was talking each time.  I wish the author would have put the name above so I was able to see whose perspective I was switching to.

Aubrey did a great job with this story!!!  I definitely recommend this to everyone.  I can't wait wait to read book 2.

Then she meets alluring, rebellious Marcus Finch--a former Alchemist who escaped against all odds, and is now on the run. Marcus wants to teach Sydney the secrets he claims the Alchemists are hiding from her. But as he pushes her to rebel against the people who raised her, Sydney finds that breaking free is harder than she thought. There is an old and mysterious magic rooted deeply within her. And as she searches for an evil magic user targeting powerful young witches, she realizes that her only hope is to embrace her magical blood--or else she might be next.

Why I'm Waiting:   The Vampire Academy series is my all time favorite series.  I have read that series so many times that I know it by heart.  I was so happy that Richelle Mead decided to do a spinoff series featuring some of my favorite characters still set in the Vampire Academy time.  I felt so bad what happened to Adrian in the end of that series.  I have grown to love Adrian so I want him to get his happy ending too which I am hoping happens with this series.  The Golden Lily left off with such a HUGE cliffhanger that I have been counting down to this book.  This is one of those books that I am going to read on my day off work and spend the whole day reading it.  Of course I miss the other characters as well  Need this book NOW!!!!

Blog Tour Stop: daynight by Megan Thomason: Review and Giveaway

Welcome to my stop on the daynight blog tour.  This tour is hosted my I am A Reader, Not A Writer.  My stop includes my review and an awesome giveaway .

daynight by Megan Thomason

Meet The Second Chance Institute (SCI): Earth’s benevolent non-profit by day, Thera’s totalitarian regime by night. Their motto: Because Everyone Deserves a Second Chance™. Reality: the SCI subjects Second Chancers to strict controls and politically motivated science experiments like Cleaving—forced lifetime union between two people who have sex.

Meet Kira Donovan. Fiercely loyal, overly optimistic, and ensnared by the promise of a full-ride college scholarship, Kira signs the SCI Recruit contract to escape memories of a tragedy that left her boyfriend and friends dead.

Meet Blake Sundry. Bitter about being raised in Exile and his mother’s death, Blake’s been trained to infiltrate and destroy the SCI. Current barrier to success? His Recruit partner—Miss Goody Two Shoes Kira Donovan.

Meet Ethan Darcton. Born with a defective heart and resulting inferiority complex, Ethan’s forced to do his SCI elite family’s bidding. Cleave-worthy Kira Donovan catches his eye, but the presiding powers give defect-free Blake Sundry first dibs.

Full of competing agendas, romantic entanglements, humor, twists and turns, daynight is Megan Thomason’s debut young adult dystopian novel and first in the daynight series.

My Review

This book simply blew me away.  When I found out this was a dystopian type book, I had to jump at the chance to read it.  I haven't found a book with dystopian elements I didn't like so I was very excited to read this this. It did not disappoint.  Every time I thought I had the plot figured out, it would completely change.  There were so many twists and turns throughout this whole book that I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.  Megan did a fantastic job on creating a story that can grab a readers attention with the very first page and not let go.  When reading daynight, I also loved to be able to read different perspectives.  I love how the author switched POVs between the three characters.  It was nice to get that inside scoop on how they really felt.

Kira was a character that I easily fell in love with.  Everything was basically centered around her.  The SCI wanted her so they did everything they could to get to her.  Once she got to Thera, she started questioning everything they told her.  Once she realized the truth, she decided to help Blake with his mission.  I love how stubborn and smart Kira was.  I just couldn't figure out who she truly loved, Blake or Ethan.  Blake had an ulterior motive the entire time.  But the more that he hung out with Kira, his feelings changed.  I honestly don't know what they changed into though.  I don't know if he had feelings for Kira or Bailey.  He didn't want any guy with Kira, but he got more of a rush from Baily.  Ethan and Kira had an immediate connection when they met at the party.  They both couldn't quit thinking about each other,  When the truth comes out about who he really is, she starts questioning everything about him. I love both Blake and Ethan.  It is hard choose which guy I like best.  Blake did grow on me more though.

There were so many twists and turns that left me so shocked in this book that I had to continue reading it.  I was speechless on some of them.  I had to keep rereading it to make sure I read it correctly. I had clue that the story would change and go that way.  I really loved that about this book.  The originality and uniqueness made it even better. I really can't wait to see where this story goes in the sequel.  daynight left off with a huge cliffhanger definitely leaving me wanting more.  Great book!!!  I recommend this book to anyone who really wants to be lest speechless and shell shocked!!!  Loved it!!!!
