My Review

Creatura is a riveting story that took me completely by surprise.  I had no clue what this book was about when I started reading it, but boy was I glad that I did.  I was so engrossed with the story that I had no clue what was going on around me.  I was drawn into the world that Nely created and didn't want to leave.  I read this book in one sitting, because I just couldn't put it down.  I had to know what happened next.  Every page left me wanting more.

Isis is haunted by a creature in her dreams.  She has trouble sleeping due to this evil creature.  When she decides to finally face he fears and confront the beast, she learns a shocking secret.  The beast isn't really a beast, but a person, a deity.  When he shows up at her school, everything changes.  Isis learns some shocking secrets about David and what he is, but she also learns some shocking secrets about herself.  While on the path of self discovery, David and Isis face obstacles by her psycho ex-boyfriend.  But in the end we find out what is really going on with him.  Why is Isis able to visit the meadow in her dreams when no one else can?

What I loved about this book was the characters that Nely created.  They were so realistic to me that I felt as if I was there. I loved Isis as a character.  She was so down to earth, stubborn, and never gave up no matter what. That is what makes her a great heroine. She was a character that I was able to relate to very easily.  I also loved hoe caring she was.  No matter how weird her ex got she still cared about him and wanted to help him no matter what.  David, David, David.  Let's just say I have a new book boyfriend.  I would marry this man in a heartbeat.  David is gorgeous, sweet and so loving that I couldn't help but fall in love with him.  The poems he wrote for Isis and what he gave up to be with her left me weak in the knees.  He would do anything for her and he proved that over and over.

Creatura is a hauntingly, beautiful story that I will never forget.  This is a book that I will continue to read over and over again.  The love and compassion the characters had for each other was beautifully written.  OMG!!!!!  The ending of this book left me completely stunned and shell-shocked.  I kept trying to turn the page to read more but there was no more.  Nely did a number on this one.  I was not expecting that ending at all.  That cliffhanger definitely left me wanting more.  Now, I am impatiently waiting for the sequel.  Creatura is a book full of love, romance, action and sacrifice.  It is a book that I would recommend to everyone.  It is a must read!!!!  You won't be disappointed.

I also want to point out how much I love the cover of this book!!!!  It is one of my favorites!!!!

Excerpt

At the entrance to the school, I found David sitting on a red brick bench, waiting for me.
“Morning,” I said, looking away for a second as I wiped the girlish grin from my face. I was remembering last night’s kiss.
“Good morning.”
He opened the glass doors for me, then took my hand and asked me to follow him to a semi-empty area across from the glass doors and windows. He gave me a gentle push and my back touched the wall. He leaned close and placed his finger on my lips. His touch sent tiny electrical shocks through every fiber of my body.
“I crave your lips. Give me but one taste and I’ll ask no more.”
I shook my head turned away, but he turned it back so that I was looking straight into his eyes.
“Why do you insist on this?” I asked.
“Why else would I crave your lips if I didn’t already know the sweet nectar that they possess?”
“No,” I said, shutting my eyes to keep from starring into his mesmerizing blue gaze. “It’s forbidden.”
“It’s as forbidden as the illicit fruit of Hades, but even he has eaten from it.”

Review

Apocalypse of Angels was a fun and fast read.  I really enjoyed the plot and can't wait to see where Harmony takes the story next.  I have always loved angel stories so I was very excited to get to read this story.  It even had a new twist on angels that made it completely unique and original.

Cami has always been able to see angels.  That has been her secret and her secret alone.  One night she witnesses a fight between and angel and something dark.  She knew right then that everything was going to change.  Why were her friends, especially Earl, getting angry with her for not going to the house parties?  What side is Earl really on?  Is Cami's sister, Beth, right in the middle of it?  What happens with Jason and Cami?  When these answers came out, I was left completely stunned on a few of them.

I had trouble connecting with Cami as a character.  At times, she just really got on my nerves.  By the end of the story though, she grew on me.  I guess it was the fact that she matured at the end.  Cami has always been able to see angels.  She can tell by looking into their eyes.  When she meets Jason, she notices immediately what he truly is.  But they have such a strong connection and all she wants is the truth from him.  Jason is so sweet, sexy and gorgeous.  I love how protective he gets with Cami.  He is experiencing forbidden feelings that he has never felt before.  Their relationship is tough, but the romance and connection between them is so strong.  What can I say about Earl.  I didn't like him from the start.  I knew something was up, because he just gave off that creeper vibe.

The only issue I had with this story was reading from Cami's point of view.  Cami is an eighteen year old senior and it felt as if I was reading from a fifteen year old.  It was really hard to connect with her.  At the end though, I started to really like her.  She matured and started acting her age so I will definitely pick up the sequel to see what happens next.

Apocalypse of Angels was an exciting story full of romance and secrets.  Of course, there was a cliffhanger at the end that definitely left me wanting more.

Excerpt:

“I really want to see you again, Cami, but I’m not sure about this. I’m not sure I can.” His gaze is intense. There is no way for me to respond to that. I look down again.

He raises my hand to his lips and kisses. Electricity travels
up my arm. How can a kiss feel like that? Have we fallen in love
already?

“Why wouldn’t you be able to see me again?” I finally have to ask.

“Never mind, just pretend I didn’t say that.”

He is hiding things from me, and I know what they are. Attraction is making me so weak that I am tempted to tell him what I know. I have to fight it.

His warm hand is smooth on top and rough on the palm. My hand must seem cold to him. He can hold my hand as long as he wants.

He sighs and kisses my hand again. “We better drive back to your car. I don’t want to keep you out too late.” He sounds like a guy trying to avoid trouble.
