My Review

When I'm With You is the third book in the Jane Austen Academy series.  I have to say that I have not read the other two Jane Austen books before I read this.  I never read books out of order so I am thankful that the other two books didn't have to be read to understand this book.  I fell in love with this book so I am definitely going to read the other two books now.  The story was beautifully written and well thought out.  When I'm With You was a fun, fast-paced read.  I couldn't believe how much time passed once I started.  I was so enthralled with the story that I had no clue what was going on around me.  I love books like that.

The character development was great in this book.  I got to see the characters grow as the story progressed.  Kat is a very stubborn character and I loved that about her.  When she leaves with Josh to be his assistant on set.  Josh was a real jerk.  I really tried to like him, but he really ticked me off at times.  Henry was a really cute, quirky guy.  I didn't know how to take him at first, but I really fell in love with him by the time the story ended.  His quirkiness is what made him adorable for me.

I am so glad I had a chance to read this book.  The story as a whole was fantastic!!!  The ending definitely left me wanting more.  I can't wait to grab the first two books to read now.  I have a feeling I will fall in love with those as well.  This book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.  I couldn't figure out the true intentions of some of the characters.  I read this book in one sitting becasue I had to know what was going to happen and how it ended.  Great job Cecilia!!!!

Don't miss the rest of the Jane Austen Academy series, where sassy girls, hot guys and Jane Austen collide!

The Jane Austen Academy series are modern retellings of Jane Austen classics set at a beachside California boarding school.

About the Author

Cecilia Gray lives in Oakland where she reads, writes and breaks for food. She also pens her biographies in the third person. Like this. As if to trick you into thinking someone else wrote it because she is important. Alas, this is not the case.

Cecilia has been praised for "instilling a warmth and weight into her characters" (Romancing The Book Reviews) and her books have been praised for being "well-written, original, realistic and witty" (Quills & Zebras Reviews).

Her latest series of young-adult contemporary Jane Austen retellings was named a What's Hot pick (RT Book Reviews magazine) and is a Best of 2012 pick (Kirkus Reviews) where it was praised for being a "unique twist on a classic" and offering "a compelling mix of action, drama and love."
