Synopsis
Donate Body to Science. Check.
When seventeen-year-old Kaitlyn checked the box, she never suspected she’d have her life–and her body–stolen from her. She awakens one day in a secret laboratory to discover that her body is now half-robot and is forced to hide her own secret: that she still has human emotions and a human mind. If the scientists who made her find out, they’ll erase what remains of who she was.
Kaitlyn finds an unlikely ally in Lucas, a handsome, brilliant scientist who can’t get over the guilt he feels knowing she was once a vibrant, beautiful young woman. He never expected a science project to affect him the way she does. As he tries to help her rediscover her past, he finds himself falling for the brave girl struggling to find her place and acceptance between the human and computer worlds.

My Review
This book was full of awesomesauce!!! Freak of Nature is a riveting story that immediately captured my attention after the very first page. This book has it all ladies and gentlemen. Suspense, true friendship, mystery, action and full of romance. Which I loved!!! Another aspect I loved about this story was its uniqueness and originality. I haven't read another book like it so I was able to fall in love with it even more. The characters were my favorite. I instantly fell for them and watched them grow throughout the story. This story took me completely by surprise.
I loved the characters in this story. I could help but adore Kaitlyn, Lucas and Quess. These three characters were just easy to relate to. I instantly fell in love
with them. To me, Kaitlyn is a very brave character. Everything
changed after she died. The moment she woke up, she realized she was
half-robot. The only thing is though was that she was still able to feel. Kaitlyn had to keep her feelings hidden or otherwise they would take them from her. I also loved seeing how different she became. She was a whole new person. Kaitlyn was trained to kill. She could kick some major butt. I also loved her friend Quess. Her friendship with Kaitlyn was really heartwarming. Lucas!!!! He is one of my new book boyfriends!!! I loved watching their feelings grow for each other throughout the story.
Freak of Nature kept me on the
edge of my seat the entire time. There were so many twists and turns
in this story that I had no clue how it was going to end. The ending left off with a cliffhanger that definitely left me wanting more. I am hoping there is a sequel so please Julia, write a sequel!!! This is a book I will definitely reread. I recommend this story to everyone!!! You all will fall in love with it just like I did!!!

About the Author
Julia Crane is the author of the Coexist: Keegan’s

Here are three interview questions with Julia
Q) Where do you get your
information or ideas for your books?
A)
I do some research, but mainly I just go where my mind takes me. Ideas
come out of nowhere it seems. Like for Freak of Nature, I saw my daughter
making a cyborg image on photoshop and I though I’ve got to write a book about
a cyborg.
Q) What was one of the most
surprising things you learned in creating any of your books?
A) How the story seems to
magically appear before your eyes. I never really know where the story is going
to go, and then I’ll be washing dishes or taking a walk and think that’s it!
And start writing.
Q) What would you say is your
interesting writing quirk?
A)
I walk around my house in circles when I get stuck. Usually my three
year old is following me around giggling.
