 My Review

This was a very interesting story.  I was immediately hooked once I started it.  I didn't want to put it down.  Each chapter left me hanging and wanting more.  Vampyre Kisses was beautifully written.  I love being able to see and feel what the characters do which I was able to do in this story.  It was a well thought out story. The whole slayer ans salt whip aspect made the story even more interesting.   Some Gods and Goddesses even made an appearance.  That is always intriguing.  I also loved how it switched from Faith's and Tents POV.  Being able to see what was going  on inside of their heads let me connect with those two characters even more.

Faith gave up on all her hopes and dreams after her father died.  In one day, that all changes.  She learned that there is another world out there besides the safe one she was living in.  It is filled with supernatural beings: werewolves, vampires and witches.  Two important gems were stolen which could cause huge destruction if they are not found in a year. While learning her powers and tracking the slayers, Faith grows and becomes a very strong witch.  Will she be strong enough to aide the vampires and werewolves in the war?  Will Faith trust herself to follow her destiny?

I don't think there was character in this book I didn't like besides the evil ones.  I always dislike them.  They get what is coming to them though.  The characters is what makes a story interesting for me, and I loved every single one of them.  I loved Mac.  I knew there was something special about him, I just didn't know what.  I loved their friendship and how he was always there for her.  I also loved Morgan.  She is the mother that Faith never had.  No matter what, she has always been there for Faith.  Gordan and Akilah were hilarious.  There aren't too many scenes with them, but they really grew on me.  They were so hilarious!!!  I don't know how I feel about Zou Tai yet.  He really annoyed me at parts in this book.

I really loved Faith as a character.  She was just one of those characters that you felt for.  Faith loved and cared about everyone around her and even helped those that attacked her.   Although appearing vulnerable and fragile on the outside, she was very strong and determined.  She had to make some very tough choices that I don't know if I could have made or done.  Protecting those around her was her top priority.  She was always protected though. Even though she got a vampyre kiss at a young age, she was still able to get hurt.  Vampyre kisses only let the vampires bite if permission is granted.

I adored Trent.  He was so sweet and very protective of Faith.  Trent has longed to find love for a long time.  He never thought he would find it though.  Faith makes me him feel alive.  Feelings start surfacing in him that he never experienced before.  It is believed that vampires do not feel so he need for her grows each day.

My favorite little being in the book was Oran.  He is a volucris.  It is a shape-shifting flying cat.  It is so small and tiny, but when Faith is in need it shifts into a huge beautiful creature.  I would love to have one of those!!!

This book had a lot of shocks and surprises that left my speechless.  I also loved that the book was very action packed.  The ending left me wanting more so I can't wait to read the sequel Werewolf Descent!!!

  Vampyre Kisses Excerpt

After a half hour, I decided to sit down for a minute to catch my breath. I ordered a shot and a water to get some liquid into me, and searched around for Mac. He wasn’t visible anywhere over the mass of bobbing heads and twisting bodies. As I continued to look around, I noticed two men at a corner table observing the dancers. One of the men must have felt my eyes on him, because he turned to look at me. He gave me a half smile and got out of his seat to walk over to my table. A slower-paced song with a good beat came on. I looked up into his pale green eyes and he offered his hand. I took it, and he led me to the dance floor. He put his strong hands on my back and we moved to the music. His curly dark reddish-brown hair fell past his ears and framed his flawless oval face, complemented by deep-set round eyes and a pointed nose. He licked his thick lips and showed his perfect white teeth with a small smile. With my heels on, our eyes met perfectly opposite one another. His silk black shirt swayed back and forth as we moved. A few buttons were undone to show his smooth chest. Leather pants hung on his hips that pressed against my bare thighs at different points when we moved. We stared at each other during each song that played; I felt like a feather floating in the warm brisk air.
With a tap on my shoulder, I turned around to find Mac staring at me, then at the man. He put his lips to my ear: “I need to talk to you for a sec.” I turned back to the man and put one finger up to let him know I would be right back. He nodded, and I turned to follow Mac off the dance floor.
“That man is bad news,” he said, his lips next to my ear.
