Summary from Goodreads:
Micah hates her
ability to “see” things when she touches people. She’s terrified of
relationships, holds on to guilt over the death of her classmate, Lacey, and
has no idea what to do with a vision from Landon, a boy from her school. She
feels him falling for her, but Micah doesn’t do friends, much less
relationships.
Enter a spooky history project about a tragedy from three hundred years ago, and voodoo dolls that Micah somehow feels has to do with her gift. Suddenly she’s sure the shadows in the woods are following her every move—without Landon’s relaxed attitude about what’s happening in her life, Micah would be sure she’s going crazy.
With no ideas on timing or specifics, the visions of both herself and the people she cares about are turning dark—and it appears the shadows around her house do move on their own. But as Micah and Landon try to prevent Micah’s visions of the future, the shadows close in, and they’re now afraid they’ve become the cause…
Micah's story is the first of three girls, with unique talents, who are part of a 300 year old tragedy that follows them in the shadows.

My Review
Insight beautifully written story that had me hooked after the very first page. I have always found stories like Insight interesting. I love the whole aspect of seeing things though touch. Insight was full or romance which I loved!!! It was also about self-discovery. Micah had to come to terms with her gift and use it more to understand it.
I loved Micah as a character. She was very easy to relate to. Throughout the story, I got to see her grow and understand her gift more. Of course, there a re a lot more things she needs to learn and understand. Being able not to tell whether it happens in the past or future would be tough. Micah starts off as being a loner due to the fact she doesn't want to touch people. As the story progresses, Micah wonders if she can ever have friends or fall in love. I adored Landon!!!! He has never had feelings for anyone until he met Micah. Micah simply becomes his world. He is so understanding of her gift and wants to protect her at all times. I loved how he always wanted to touch her constantly. At first she didn't like it due to the visions. but she came to love his touch.
I am a romance junkie so I loved the romance in this story, Even though it was not emotionally developed, I still loved it. That's pretty much how teenagers are. I also loved that it wasn't rushed. Micah was so mean to him at first, but slowly started to fall for hi. She saw the real Landon, and Landon understood the real Micah. Landon might be learning something about himself that he didn't know. I was shocked with this. It would be really cool if he was apart of what she can do. Loved it!!!!
The only criticism that I can give this story is that I wish something major happened. I was at the end waiting on something big to happen and nothing at all happened. There was no wow moment in this book. I was waiting on something to happen with the shadows and there wasn't anything on that either. The story also didn't delve too much into the legend. I would have liked to learn a little more about it.
This was a great story!!! The ending definitely left me wanting more. I have to know what happens next. Jolene did a fantastic job on creating a story that can grab a reader's attention and not let go. This book is the first book I have read of Jolene's and I will definitely be reading her other books now. I recommend this book to everyone!!!
