Goodreads Synopsis

When Candra Ember wakes up in hospital after a dangerous encounter with a red-haired woman, she is shocked to discover that seeing a winged boy wasn’t her imagination. Candra is exposed to a world of rivalry and sacrifice she never knew existed, and the aftermath of a war to save humanity thousands of years ago. Soon she finds herself relentlessly stalked by Sebastian, a beautiful and arrogant Watcher Angel and romantically pursued by his darkly seductive rival, Draven. Ultimately, dubious about her own goodness, Candra’s very existence compromises a tentative peace in the city of Acheron.

My Review

Candra's immediately changes when she fell five stories due to a red headed vixen named Ananchel.  At the hospital the guy who saves her shows up.Sebastian has been watching her for about 6 months, protecting her.Since no one will give her the information she seeks, Candra decides to seek the answers herself.  She goes into enemy territory to find the answers.  When Candra learns the truth about who she truly is and what is expected of her, will she make the right decision?

I loved this story.  I was hooked after the first chapter.  It starts off with her being pushed from five stories of a parking garage.  Of course, I am going to want to know why.It really captivated me.  I loved everything about it.  The story was beautifully written.  I felt like I was there with the characters throughout the story.  I wanted to be there.

The characters in this story were well developed.  There wasn't one character I didn't like.  In some way, I was able to connect with each and every one of them.  I loved how Candra doesn't let anyone tell her what to do.  She is determined to find her own way without the help of the others if need be.  Ivy is Candra's best friend.  They are more like sisters.  They would do anything for each other.  Lofi was one of my favorite characters. I loved her personality.  Sebastian is just gorgeous.  He enjoyed watching him fight that inner battle with his feelings for Candra.  When he finally does something about it, it just blew my breath away.  I love my love stories!!!  I don't know what is up with Draven.  I want to like him, but I don't know if he is good or bad. Brie has been a great parent to Candra.  She gave up everything for her.  I am hoping there is something there between her and Gabe.  He is also a great guy.   There are so many more characters in this story.  I really enjoyed them all.

I loved the story behind the angels.  The angels that have fallen lose their wings and they age like human beings.  In order to fall, they have to have their wings pulled and torn from their back.  Ouch!!!  The angels are not aloud to reproduce.  Their children which are know as Nephilim, are born soulless and evil. Which Candra isn't.  She has a soul.  Sebastian is the leader of the angel army that destroys the Nephilim.  So why didn't he destroy Candra?

Wow, that ending blew me away.  Didn't see that coming.  It sad and happy at the same time.  I cried for Ivy, but happy with how it ended.  I recommend this booj to anyone who wants a good angel story.  I truly loved it!!!

Favorite Scene/Quote

His lips touched hers with a featherlight caress that set her body on fire, then again with more pressure.  His lips were full and soft, and she responded to him, allowing him to guide the unhurried pace as their moths molded to each others.  His tongue peeked out to caress her bottom lip, then met hers in a delicious, painfully slow rhythm.

Candra melted against his body, feeling his lungs stutter in ragged breaths.  His fingers payed over the small area of her skin where his hands rested but never moved far from the same spot.

"What have you done to me, Candra?"
