Meena Kapoor knows what life has in store for her. She’s in her senior year at Stanford where she’ll graduate summa cum laude, and then she'll begin her interviews…her marriage interviews. Meena is Indian, and she’s never questioned that she’ll have an arranged marriage like all the generations before her. Not until she meets gorgeous math major Ethan Callahan. Ethan’s sense of humor and free spirit stir feelings in Meena she didn’t know were possible outside of Bollywood movies. It doesn’t hurt that he’s charming and has the uncanny ability to make math sound like poetry, but Meena knows their equation makes no sense in the real world.
Ethan finds himself intrigued by the mysterious, beautiful girl, whose big, brown eyes reflect great pain. His goals are small at first—to make her smile and then to laugh. But he soon wants more, and though Meena is adamant they have no future, he convinces her to share the present. Ethan believes every problem has a solution, but with cultural expectations and family duty among the variables, they will struggle to solve the ultimate equation to find happiness.

Review
Variables of Love was a riveting story that left a huge impact on me. I can't get this story out of my head. I even fell asleep thinking about it. This is the first book that I have read from MK Schiller and I can now you now, it won't be the last. She created characters that felt so real to me and everything I felt was raw. The situations they faced could actually happen making it all the more real for me. I also loved how she switched POVs form Meena and Ethan in this book. I was able to connect with them on a deeper level because of that.
Meena, and Indian girl, meets Ethan, an American. That right there causes a lot of trouble for them. Meena's culture is so different from Ethan's. She won't let go of her beliefs and and what is expected of her including her arranged marriage. But Ethan and Meena have a strong connection that neither of them can fight. So they both compromise and decide to live in the present and not the future. Be together now until their time runs out. The question is, what happened when their time ran up?
I adored Meena as a character. She was living with so much guilt and pain over her brother's death. Because of that guilt, she wouldn't choose Ethan over what her family has chosen for her. She decided to pass up the one thing that made her happy, for what her parents wanted for her. Ethan fell hard for Meena. After they moved in together, everything was bound to shift between them which it did. Meena was always honest though. She never led him on or anything. That is one thing I loved about their relationship. They were always honest with each other. I loved how Ethan tried to make her live for herself. Do the things she loved to do. He wanted her to pick him. He did what he had to do and I loved that about him.
Variables of Love was an enthralling story that had me hooked form the very beginning. Once I started this story, I honestly could not put it down. I LOVED how the story ended. I am hoping this isn't a standalone, because I would love to see more of Meena and Ethan. I am so glad I had a chance to read and review it. I loved it so much that I bought it. This is a story that I will definitely reread. I highly recommend this book!!!! If you don't read this book, you will totally regret it.
“Goodbye, girl-who-bumps-into-strangers. I only call you that because I don’t know your name.” Yes, and I won’t give it because hearing it said out loud by your deep, sexy voice will make me loose whatever dignity I have left.
I smiled at his description, feeling more myself as each step carried me farther away from his beautiful face, sculpted muscles, and boyish grin.
“See you later, gorgeous-boy-who-picks-up-and-arranges-clumsy-girls’-essays,” I uttered under my breath when I was out of earshot.
Of
course, I knew who he was. Ethan Callahan, the boy who sat in the back row of
Advanced Statistics. The same boy who made frequent cameos in my daydreams. I
hated that he sat in the back of the lecture hall. I only saw him enter and
exit the classroom. I wanted to see him enter and exit other things…like me.

M-I-N-E, I wanted to say, but I kept my mouth shut while she answered.

I started imagining stories in my head at a very young age. In
fact, I got so good at it that friends asked me to create plots featuring them
as the heroine and the object of their affection as the hero. You've heard of
fan fiction... this was friend fiction.
I hope you enjoy my stories and always find The Happily Ever After
in every endeavor.
I love hearing from readers so please write to me!
