Blog Tour: Hater by Cambria Herbert: Review and Giveaway

Title: #Hater (The Hashtag Series #2)
Author: Cambria Hebert
Release: January 12, 2015

Genre:  NA Contemp/College Romance
Rating: 5/5 Stars

Synopsis

It started with unspoken animosity. The bitter bite of jealousy. And now its full blown hate.

It was during my first football game that I first felt the first chill of hate. I looked it right in the eyes and felt its sticky tentacles reach out for me. I’d never experienced something so cold and empty before.

The effect of that look lingered, like an unspoken promise, long after it was gone.
Becoming a couple – becoming the other half of a campus celebrity wasn’t easy. I let down walls guarding my heart and he looked past my glasses and accident prone tendencies. Romeo and I are an unlikely match, a #nerd and a jock. But we made it.

And we’re happy.

Zach doesn’t want us to be happy. He wants Romeo to pay for getting him kicked out of Omega and for the night he spent in jail. He’s going to use anything and everything he can to get his revenge. Including me.

As the weather on campus grows cold and the days become dark, revenge becomes the center of someone’s life and the happiness Romeo and I worked so hard for is threatened.
I can’t help but worry that our love is going to be overshadowed by hate.

Review

Hater was fan-flipping-tastic!!!!  I was not disappointed with this sequel at all.  After reading Nerd, I could not wait to get my hands on this book.  I read this entire book in one sitting.  Once you get pulled into Romeo's and Rimmel's lives, there is no going back.  No putting the book down.  Their would becomes your world.  I wasn't able to focus on anything around me while reading Hater.  Each chapter hooked me and left me wanting more, and I had to have more.

I adore Romeo and Rimmel.  I LOVE these two characters.  Who would have thought that the popular football player would fall for his tutor, who is a Nerd.  But they are together, and their relationship is growing into something neither of them has had before.  Rimmel is just so sweet.  She doesn't care what anyone thinks about her and I love that about her.  She stays true to herself no matter what.  Being with Romeo, she also learns new things about herself or brings back a little of herself from the past.  But being with Romeo, has put her in the spotlight.  And with Zach wanting revenge, who else to pull into it but Romeo's one weakness.  I fall for Romeo more and more with each book.  He hasn't had a serious relationship until Rimmel.  He wanted someone love him for him, not the rich football player, and he finally found that with Rimmel.  As their relationship grows, Rimmel becomes Zach's target to bring Romeo down.  The only thing is, Romeo is so protective and possessive over Rimmel that he will destroy anyone that even tries anything with her.  Zach is flat out crazy and wants his revenge.  He will do whatever he can to make sure Romeo loses everything he loves.  I do not like him at all, especially what he did to Romeo at the end.  Hopefully he pays for it.

Hater was a fun, worth-while read that I cannot stop thinking about. This story was a real page turner that had me hooked from the very first book.  Wow, what an ending. That Zach is one crazy guy let me tell you. I hope everything works out with Romeo.  I don't want to see him lose his dream.  There ere some major shockers and revelations at the end as well.  I was completely shell shocked.  So if you are wondering, yes, there is a cliffhanger.  And yes, the ending will definitely leave anticipating the next book.  Impatiently I might add!!!  I want more!!!  I NEED more!!!  Hater is book that I will definitely reread!!!

Excerpt

“It’s not your job to protect me, Romeo.”
“You’re wrong.” I said, my voice leaving no room for argument. “It is and I will.”
“You’re my boyfriend. Not my bodyguard.” Her words were annoyed and I felt something behind them. But before I could question her she kept going. “He was just being a jerk. I tried to walk away and he stopped me. If I hadn’t fought against him I probably wouldn’t have a bruise at all.”
I felt my eyes narrow as I spoke dangerously low. “Are you saying it’s your fault Zach treated you this way?”
Letting her take any responsibility for this was something I would not allow.
She sighed. “I’m saying your being a drama queen.”
I laughed and raised my eyebrow. “Do I look like a woman to you?”
A fine pink blush spread across her cheekbones. “No.”
I took her face in my hands and tilted it up so I could stare into her eyes. “Listen to me. My reacting to someone putting their hands on you is not me being dramatic, it’s me loving you.”
“Oh, Romeo,” she sighed my name and my cock hardened.
I pulled her into my chest and wrapped my arms around her. “Being an asshole is just part of my charm, baby.” I said matter of fact, unable to keep the smile out of my voice. “This is just me loving you.”
“You love real good,” she mumbled against my chest, pushing a little closer.
I palmed the back of her head, holding her tight. It scared me how much I loved her sometimes. Just like the anger I’d felt just moments ago scared me. It was raw and intense. It almost bordered on hate.
And all of it. Every single flame of that animosity was directed at one man.
