“Maybe you should avoid me tonight.”
His arm slipped around my waist and I was drawn into his chest. “If I only have this one night with you, the last thing I’m going to do is stay away.”

Kia Valentines had always accepted the fact that she was a nerd, a nobody. It was a badge she wore with honor, until the day she saved Claudia DeLorenzo’s life and lost herself.
When offered the chance to shed her identity for a single night, Kia never believed it would change her life. It was one night. It meant nothing, or it shouldn't have. But that single night turned out to be her undoing when she finds passion in the arms of the one person she can never have.
Adam Chaves was more than just a gorgeous face, he made her laugh, but more importantly, when he looked at her, she felt like the most beautiful girl on earth. But Adam has no idea that Kia was the girl behind the mask and Kia has no intention of telling him. But a secret can only be kept if no one else knows about it. Claudia knows and she wants something Kia isn't willing to give in order to keep it.
Will Kia succumb? And just how far is Claudia willing to go to get what she wants?

Review

Airicka Phoenix has become one of my favorite authors.  She has written several books that I have fell in love with and continue to reread.  When I found out about Finding Kia, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.  I knew I would love it as much as I loved her other books, and boy was I right!!!!  Finding Kia was a beautifully written story that had me hooked from the very first page.  I was only planning on reading a couple of chapters then finishing it later in the day.  Well, that didn't happen.  I kissed my plans goodbye.  Once I started this book, I couldn't put it down.  I fell in love with the story as a whole and the characters .  I had to know how it was going to end.

Kia is a girl who pretty much keeps to herself.  The only person she hangs out with is her best friend Nessie, who is Kia's complete opposite.  When Kia saves Claudia's life, she is then invited to a Masquerade Party that she doesn't even plan on going to.  Only she does.  And it completely changes everything for Kia.  She had no idea that Adam would be there. Adam has fallen for the girl behind the mask, but has no clue who she is. The questions are will Adam find out?  And what will happen when he does?

Kia Valentine is a character that a lot of people can relate to.  I loved how nerdy she was.  She was a beautiful girl inside and out but no matter what she stayed herself.  At the Masquerade Ball, she had a lot more confidence and had a little fun with it.  As the story went on, I watched Kia grow into the person she was suppose to be.  She didn't let people tell her what to do.  She is very strong and smart.  Adam was drop dead gorgeous!!!!!  He was the popular guy who fell for the nerdy girl and that is what I loved about this story.  Adam saw Kia for who she really is.

Finding Kia took me on an amazing journey filled with love, romance and mystery.  It is also a book about self discovery as well.  This is a book that still hasn't left me yet.  I continually go back and reread it.  Airicka sure knows how to leave us hanging!!!!!  Finding Kia does leave off with a huge cliffhanger that definitely leaves me wanting more!!!  Now I am impatiently waiting on the sequel so I can see what happens next.  The only complaint I have with the book, if you even want to call it a complaint.  I call it a compliment.  I wish the story was longer!!!!  I got to the end and wished it hadn't ended yet!!!!  I loved, loved, loved this book!!!!  Hurry up with the sequel Airicka!!!!!   This is a book I highly recommend everyone!!!!  I am telling you, you will not be disappointed.

Excerpt

“Kia,” I corrected him. “My name—”
“I know,” he said. “I haven’t forgotten.”
Right. “You just called me Nena.” Yeah, I was so not impressed.
He rolled a pink tongue over his teeth. “It means baby in Spanish.”
Baby? He called me baby? Wait, what kind of baby? The hot, seductive sort or the, you need a diaper change sort?
He laughed. “Do you always think so hard?”
“Yes,” I said automatically. “I think. I’m a thinker.”
“Interesting.”
I frowned. “Why?” Better yet… “How?”
He grinned. “I’m a doer.”
