About Legally Charming:
THE RIGHT DRESS CAN CATCH THE EYE OF PRINCE CHARMING…
Felicity Hart has one goal: Completing her masters in art.
Falling in love isn’t part of the plan. She reluctantly agrees to attend a
Halloween party with her best friend. After sneaking away from the party and
falling asleep in an unoccupied room, she wakes to the sexiest pair of eyes
she’s ever seen. Eyes that belong to the one man who could turn her well
organized world upside down. When he flashes that wicked, panty-melting smile at
her the vow to not fall in love seems impossible…
EVERY PRINCE IS LOOKING FOR HIS SLEEPING
BEAUTY TO KISS…
Jared Redmond used to be the ultimate bad boy. But now his
legal career is taking off and the partners of his firm are trusting him with
high-dollar real estate transactions. Jared’s king-size bed is empty. But when
he arrives home on Halloween to find a princess sleeping in his bed – his all
work and no play attitude goes out the window. There’s nothing he wants more
than to explore the hidden desires of this mysterious beauty and show her just
how much of a bad boy he really is by fulfilling her every fantasy.
WHEN MIDNIGHT STRIKES AND COACHES TURN TO
PUMPKINS…
Underneath the glitter of this fairy tale romance, Felicity
and Jared might have found true love. But the mounting pressure of their real
lives takes hold again and Jared and Felicity are pulled further and further
apart. Can they find their fairy tale ending or will they be left with the
dying embers of what could have been?

Legally Charming was a fun, quick read that I really enjoyed. Lauren Smith is a new author for me so I didn't know what to expect. This story pulled me in from the very beginning and didn't let me go until the end. When I read the synopsis for this book, I had to get my hands on it. I am a fairy tale type girl so Legally Charming was a MUST read for me.
Felicity Hart was a likeable character who was so innocent. She was a very sweet and didn't have a mean bone in her body. Felicity didn't come from money so she had to work extra hard to make sure her dreams came true. I really loved that about her. When Jared came in to the picture, everything changed for her. She pushed and fought it for as long as she could and I did understand why. She was moving in the Spring possibly and he knew that. She didn't want their hearts to be broken. But, they both didn't do a very good job at fighting it. I honestly had trouble connecting to her, because her being a damsel in distress through the whole book got a little old for me. She was so naive at times. I had to keep reminding myself that she 24 years old and not in between 15-17 years old.
Jared Redmond was charming as can be. He was a workaholic though so that always came first. Jared's passion was real estate law. If he nailed the Worthington case, he would be made partner. But, he works for his ex-girlfriend's father. And Shana's father wants them back together. Pimm's blackmails Jared. Gives him the choice of dating Shana or his job. If I was Jared, I would have already been looking for a job. But, he has worked there a long time and his client list was massive. Jared was really good at what he did. The best. He never had that love until Felicity came into the picture. She opened up his heart. Jared started to forget about work when she was around. Jared's age confused me a little as well. I also had to keep reminding myself that he was 30. A lot of times he felt so much younger. He cherished Felicity so much, but at times I felt as if he babied her too much. In his mind, he was taking care of her, constantly asking if she was okay. I just got more of a feel that he was babying her or had to baby her.
I did have trouble connecting with Jared and Felicity's relationship. I think the age was a big factor for me. Not their actual age, but how they acted. He was constantly consoling and babying her. She was so innocent that she had no clue what was going on it seemed. It was like she was taking the world in for the very first time. I got a little irritated with this at times. And yet, she was supposed to be so smart. I just got a little confused. And their relationship happened so fast. Insta-love. I would have loved to see them grow and develop. Would have loved to see a little more depth to the characters.
I really did love Layla, Tanner, Thad and Shana. They were my favorite characters, especially Thad and Shana. I am really hoping that they get together!! Thad was just a sweetheart even though he was made out to be a player. And Shana was the nice ex-girlfriend. She wasn't vindictive at all. She wanted Jared to get his happy ending. Layla and Tanner's relationship was my favorite. I loved reading about those two. Couldn't wait to see what they would do next. I am really hoping they get their own book as well. And Layla was just the best best-friend there was.
Legally Charming was a romantic read full of love and angst. There was a plot twist in this book that I did see coming, and I am so glad it happened. Even though I wished I would have loved this book more than I did, I still really enjoyed it. I will still be looking and hoping for the other books that I want in this series.
