Review: Love in Lingerie by Alessandra Torre

Title: Love in Lingerie
Author: Alessandra Torre
Release Date: January 16th, 2017
Rating: 5/5 Stars

Synopsis

I hired her to fix my company, to bring Marks Lingerie back to life. I didn’t expect her to become my friend. I didn’t expect to fall in love with her.

The first rule of business is to never touch your employees. I think there is another rule about not falling for your best friend—a rule against imagining the curves of her body, or the way her breathing would change if I pulled down her panties and unzipped my pants.

Now, I can’t wait any longer. I’m tossing out the rules.

Damn the company.
Damn our friendship.
Damn my fears.

Review

Love in Lingerie is a quick, yet sexy read. Full of angst and the chemistry was off the charts.  This story has all the feels.  I felt everything as if I was right there with them.  I could relate to the characters on so many different levels.  Alessandra did a fantastic job of creating a story that is so real and raw that the book came to life. Everything in this book could actually happen.  Everything in this book, someone could be that person or experience what that person has been through.  That is what pulled me in the most.  Real life experiences.

Lingerie I can handle.  Visions, I can create.  A team, I can inspire.  A boss, I can please.

I loved Trey and Kate so much!  When they were in a room together, I could literally feel the sexual tension between them.  No matter how much they wanted to be together, both were stubborn and both would push away.  What I loved about their relationship was that at first, they were boss and employee.  Slowly their relationship changed to one of friendship that turned into so much more.  And yes I did get frustrated with them so many times.  On the decisions they made.  But I honestly understand why they did it.  And who knows, if they came together sooner, they may have not made it. And that can happen with any relationship.

When a kiss waits for a thousand days, it erupts like a cyclone-a slow unfurling of lips, of tongues, hands ripping, clothes flying, hot swirls of breath met with a clash of frantic desire.

Trey's company is the most important thing to him.  And his one rule is no fraternization with the employees.  There goes any chance he has with Kate.  Or so he lets us believe.  The real issue here is, Trey is keeping a secret. And that secret is what he believes will destroy them.  So he keeps her at arms length.  Becomes her best friend. even though he wants her like no other.  I loved how strong, loving and protective Trey was.  He would do anything for Kate and the people closest to him.  He got so mad at her at the beginning for what she did with some of his employees that he has known for a long time.  I loved Trey for the person he is.  He is what all women want.  To be cared for the way he cares for Kate.  Once I found out his secret, it did turn me off for a minute.  I was like Kate in thinking how gross it was and if he would want her to do that as well.  But he changed so much for Kate.  That became his past, and Kate was his present and future. And I also want to say that I loved seeing Trey's vulnerability.  He really had me by the heart!

I'd never believed in fairytales, but this man-he is my prince, my future, my everything.

Kate was a strong female lead.  When she started her new job, boy she told her boss how it was.  She was there to make changes and by gosh she did.  Whatever she had to do to get Mark's running again, she was going to do it.   I loved how determined she was and how she always put herself out there.  She was the one always making the moves first.  Always wanted to do the right thing.

If our love was lingerie, it'd be leather, thin straps of binding that could withstand a hundred years of war and peace, fights and love-making.  It would yield and give, yet never rip or break.  It would be built to last, to wear forever.

If our love was lingerie, it would never come off.

Love in Lingerie is a beautifully written story that will definitely leave you feeling very emotional.  It took me on a roller coaster ride.  I enjoyed everything about this book.  There wasn't even a character that I disliked.   I was so sad to see this story end.  This book is a must read.  If you are looking for a story that will give you everything and more, then this is the book for you!
