Synopsis

UFC Middleweight fighter, Ryley Jameson, swore it would never happen again. He was done with his ex, and over the pain she’d inflicted when she left him. At least, that’s what he tells people. Maybe if he says it enough, he’ll begin to believe it himself.

Regretting her decision to let Ryley go, Ashleigh Warren comes back into town and confronts him. Holding only one secret back, she puts the rest on the line and asks for a second chance. Too bad he’s not going to let her off easy.

Camden Jameson loves his twin brother, but his jealousy runs deep. They may be identical in looks, but that’s where the similarities end. When Ashleigh comes back into Ryley’s life, Camden has the perfect opportunity for revenge. Two birds, one stone.

A journey to the Dark Side affects them all, but only one feels the true sting of revenge.

Review

Ryley's Revenge did not disappoint at all.  I have been waiting on this book for a while now.  I was literally jumping and and down as soon as I saw this on my kindle.  I immediately started reading it then, and just devoured it.  After reading one of the novella's from A Fighter's Desire, I begged LP to make this story happen.  And thank gosh she did.  She even put a few little twists in there that I didn't see coming but made it ten times more awesome!!!  I loved how LP wrote in both Ashleigh's and Ryley's POV.  I was able to understand each character individually because of that.  Plus it is always nice to be inside the male POVs head especially if it is someone like Ryley.

Ashleigh regretted choosing the wrong guy.  The safe guy.  But she tried fixing her mistake.  She went back to Ryley begging for his forgiveness.  Let me tell you something.  She was a very strong woman to deal with the crap he put her through.  But she didn't give up and I loved that about her.  Ryley changed big time since we first saw him.  He was hurt really bad when Ashleigh left.  He lost the one thing he loved more than anything to another guy.  But, when she came back, he pushed her and pushed her to see if she would come back.  When he learned her secret, he was not only shocked and scared, but extremely happy.  He wanted to take on that role.  When he found out what he was having, I almost cried.  That was so sweet and just perfect. When people start hurting his family, the big alpha male steps in to protect what is his.  I love Ryley's sexiness, love when he becomes a big softy, but I love his protectiveness even more.  He would do anything to protect the ones he loves even from his own brother.  Camden, Camden, Camden.  He has changed big time as well.  I don't know what is going on with that man.  He is sinking big time and I hope he finds his way out.  He doesn't want Ashleigh and Ryley together.  He has always been jealous and he is letting it eat at him.  I am hoping he finds a woman that will knock some sense into him.

Ryley's Revenge was flat out one of my favorite books I have read this year.  It was full of angst, romance, suspense and action.  I love escaping into this MMA world to see my fighters that I have come to adore and love. I also love seeing other characters from the other books making an appearance in the new books.  It is nice to see what they have been into. There are so many twists and turns that I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.  The of the twists left me squealing while jumping up and down while others completely shell shocked me.  I  had so many OMG moments.  I read this book in one sitting, because I couldn't put it down.  I HAD to know what happened next. This book left off with a huge, huge cliffhanger!!!!  I REALLY need to know what happens next.  I am hoping that they get another book just for themselves to see how Ryley handles being a father.  I highly recommend this book!!!  It is a MUST read!!!

Excerpt

The magnetic feeling I always felt when he was near pulled me to him. Out of the corner of my eye, Gabriella watched on in amazement, but I couldn’t focus on anyone other than my fighter; the one I loved, but left because I was afraid. I slowly approached him, biting my lip to keep it from trembling. He lifted his weights, one arm at a time, his muscles bulging with each curl. Those arms used to hold me, but I was too stupid not to stay in their warmth and protection.

“Ryley,” I murmured softly.

Either he didn’t want to acknowledge me or he couldn’t hear. Even my own voice sounded foreign to my ears. Moving closer, I stood in front of him and took a deep breath. “Ryley,” I repeated. “Can we talk?”Setting the weights down, he lowered his head and balled his hands into tight fists. His knuckles were torn wide open and all I wanted to do was touch him. Without looking at me, he stood and towered over me, glancing around the room. He looked at everything, but me.

“Let’s go,” he demanded.

Before following him to the back, I looked at Gabriella who frowned and shook her head. This wasn’t going to be good. I felt like I was being led to slaughter by the way everyone watched me with trepidation in their eyes. All I wanted was for Ryley to look at me and listen to what I had to say. However, with each step I took it felt more and more like the end.

Once we got to the back, Ryley opened the door to an empty office and turned on the light. As soon as I walked in, he shut the door behind us and locked it. I swallowed hard as he stood there, head down, body coiled tighter than a snake’s. I wanted to go to him and wrap my arms around him, but I was frozen. I wanted to hear him call me angel like he used to when we’d make love.

“I went to your house this morning. Your brother wasn’t too happy with me. Did he tell you I came by?”

He stiffened and sighed. “No.”

“I thought as much,” I whispered. “I guess I can’t blame him.” Panic started to set in and I could feel the blood rushing to my head. I felt nauseated and lightheaded, but I swallowed it back as hard as I could. “I’m so sorry, Ryley. I never wanted to hurt you. But you have to know, there’s nothing going on between me and Colin.”

He scoffed and leaned against the wall, looking at my feet. “It didn’t look like that yesterday.”

“I know what it must’ve looked like and I know you don’t trust me after everything I did, but you have to believe me. All I want is a chance to prove it to you, to prove that—”

“To prove what?” he exploded, lifting his fiery gaze to mine for the first time. My breath instantly left my lungs and I faltered, tears welling in my eyes. “To prove that I can trust you? That you want to be with me? How the fuck do you expect me to do that?”

Shaking my head, I found the courage to move forward, tears falling down my cheeks. When I lifted my hands to his face, he turned his head, the connection gone. “No, that’s not what I was going to say. I was going to say that I love you. That I’ll do whatever it takes to prove it to you.”

For a second it seemed as if he was listening, but then he jerked his face out of my hold and moved away. “I think you’re missing the point. You see, I don’t want you back. I’m happy with the way things are.”

“Really?” I choked. “So you get to screw whoever you want and party it up? Is that what makes you happy?”

Smirking, he shrugged his shoulders. “That’s just the way my life is. You wouldn’t even want me back if you knew the things I’ve done since you left.”
