Blog Tour Stop: Strength by Carrie Butler: Review and Giveaway

Welcome to my stop on the Strength blog tour.  My stop includes my review of this book along with a tour wide giveaway.

Strength by Carrie Butler
Series: Mark of Nexus #1
Publication: March 7th 2013
by Sapphire Star Publishing
Genre: New Adult Paranormal Romance

Synopsis:

When college student Rena Collins finds herself nose-to-chest with the campus outcast, her rumor-laced notions are shattered. Handsome, considerate, and seemingly sane, Wallace Blake doesn’t look like he spends his nights alone, screaming and banging on the walls of his dorm room. Hell, he doesn’t look like he spends his nights alone, period.

Too curious for her own good, Rena vows to uncover the truth behind Wallace’s madman reputation--and how two seconds of contact had left her with bruises. Of course, there are a few setbacks along the way: guilt, admiration, feelings of the warm and fuzzy variety…

Not to mention the unwanted attention of Wallace's powerful, supernaturally-gifted family.

They’re a bloodline divided by opposing ideals, two soon-to-be warring factions that live in secret among us. When Rena ends up caught in their crossfire, Wallace has no choice but to save her by using his powers. Now they’re really in trouble. With war on the horizon and Rena’s life in the balance, he needs to put some distance between them. But Rena won’t let go. If fighting is what it takes to prove her own strength and keep Wallace in her life, then that’s what she’ll do--even if it means risking a whole lot more than her heart.

My Review
I loved, loved, loved this book!!!!  I have one word to describe this book.  Epic.  Strength just blew me away.  I feel in love with everything about it.  Strength is a captivating story that had me hooked after the very first page.  Once I started reading this story, I just couldn't put the book down.  I was able to read this book in one day, because it was so good.  The story was beautifully written and well thought out.  I originally thought that this was just a new adult book, but boy was I wrong.  Carrie added a supernatural twist making the story ten times better.  What I also loved about this book was its uniqueness and originality.  I haven't read another book like it so that gave it even more bonus points from me.
I loved every character in this book.  Even the secondary characters.  Rena is pretty much a normal girl going to college.  Everything changes when she meets the outcast, Wallace.  Everything about him intrigues her. As they grow close together, it gets very hard to to keep secrets.  I loved Rena as a character.  She was very brave and never gave up.  She is a character that anyone could relate too.  Wallace is just flat out gorgeous personified.  I really came to adore him.  I love stories where one girl can make a man become a softy.  I love when the bad boys show their soft side.  It doesn't disappoint here.

This book had so many twists and turns that it left me on the edge of my seat the entire time.  The ending definitely left me wanting more.  I can't wait to get my hands on the next installment and see what trials and tribulations Rena and Wallace will face.  I really love these characters so I am hoping the sequel comes out soon.  They are one of my favorite couples.  I loved this book so much that I went ahead and bought it for my kindle.  I will definitely be rereading Strength.  This book is a must read everyone!!!  Great job Carrie!!!!

AUTHOR BIO
Carrie daydreamed her way through college—until they thrust a marketing degree into her hands, slapped a summa cum laude seal on the corner, and booted her out into a less-than-stellar job market. Instead of panicking at the prospect of unemployment, she used her Midwestern logic to steer into the skid and point her life in the direction she really wanted to go: writing out those daydreams.
