Book Description:

Sometimes, we don’t get to choose who we fall for.

Lennon spends most of his time raising his little sister Currie while trying to skate through his senior year of high school. He prefers groupies with no-strings attached but finds himself strangely attracted to Jinx, the straight-A student in his choir. Lennon’s curiosity overrules his good sense as he tries to peel away the layers to discover the reason for Jinx’s skittishness.

Jinx conceals the black truth about herself from her friends. She won’t admit to them that she screwed up big time, losing her first love and what she once held most precious.

When Lennon’s band holds auditions to replace their keyboard player, Jinx comes to tryout and almost leaves after seeing Lennon. Despite the fact she despises him, she joins the band to nurture her love of music that will hopefully ease the guilt gnawing away at her.

Like the rest of his band mates, Jinx soon witnesses Lennon battling his infamous father for the custody of Currie. While confronting his pent-up anger at his dad, Lennon exposes vulnerabilities he had no intention of letting any girl ever see, especially Jinx. Their reckless pasts may bring them together or further complicate their already messy lives.

My Review

Lennon's Jinx blew me away!!!  I absolutely fell in love with this book.  I read this book in one sitting, because I just couldn't book the book down.  I was completely enthralled with the story that I didn't realize hoe much time went by.  This captivating story was full of romance, tragedy, regret and loss.  Lennon's Jinx was beautifully written and well though out.  Raw emotion pored out in this story.  I was able to fell as if I was in the story with the characters , experiencing everything with them.  It got to the point that I was rooting for Lennon and Jinx.  I loved how the author switched up the POVs in this story.  I t was nice to get that little inside scoop on how they really felt.  Lennon's Jinx is a riveting story that shows us how precious each moment is.  To live each day as our last.

Lennon's Jinx is about a boy and a girl who are both broken and find trust and comfort in each other.  Lennon takes care of his sister Currie.  He has taken care of her since he was little.  His life evolves around that and he has come to love that.  He doesn't believe in love so pretty much sleeps with everyone.  When Jinx joins the band, he tries to fight feelings that he doesn't understand.  Slowly, he starts opening up to Jinx in a way he has never opened up to anyone before. The same goes with Jinx.  After being skittish around men, she slowly starts to change.  After realizing Lennon isn't the creep she thought he was, Lennon becomes the one person she trusts and feels safe with.

I loved every character in this story.  I couldn't help but adore Lennon.  He has had such a tough life that I can understand why he is the way he is.  To never have felt loved by someone, especially his parents, is heartbreaking.  But all that changed, when one girl joined his band.  He didn't understand the feeling he started having for Jinx.  At times, he tried to fight them.  Lennon can't seem to forgive his father either.  Jonathon tries to get his son's forgiveness, but Lennon doesn't budge.  I don't blame him either.  But then I see that Jonathon is really trying. I also loved seeing is relationship with Zoe and Currie.  He loved those two girls more than anything.  Those two girls got to see a side of him no one else got to see.  Jinx also had a troubled life.  Being raped completely made her afraid to be around men period.  I had an idea on who raped her and was disgusted when I found out I was right. After joining Lennon's band, Jinx slowly learns to trust those guys and become a little family with them.  They had each others backs no matter what.  Clive and Danny Boy were sweethearts as well.  They way they cared about each other was sweet.  I loved seeing these bad boys softer side.  I was in awe moments on how they acted around the two little girls.

I am a romance junkie and loved seeing the relationship change between Lennon and Jinx.  They both believed they were broken, but slowly came to need each other.  I loved being able to watch that slowly develop and actually mean something.  They opened up to each other in a way that never happened before.  I loved that.  I loved being able to see how vulnerable they got, and share their secrets with each other.  I can't wait to see what progresses with them in the next book.

The ending of this story stomped my heart to pieces.  I did not see that coming at all.  It took me forever to quit crying my eyes out.  I came to love these characters and was expecting my happy ending so I was shocked at what happened at the end.  It took me forever to finish, because I couldn't quit crying.  My heart was torn to pieces.

Chris Myers did a fantastic job with this story.  After reading her other story, Date with the Dead, I knew I would love this one as well.  This book did not disappoint me at all.  I fell in love with the story and can't wait to read the sequel!!!  I need the sequel NOW!!!!  This book is a MUST read everyone!!!

  About the Author

Chris Myers suffers from an overactive imagination. In second grade, Sister Bernice produced Chris's first play about pumpkins mauling and eating children. Apparently, the nuns didn’t catch the underlying meaning. This instantly raised Chris to stardom amongst her peers for the several days off from schoolwork while in production. She spent her high school years writing torch songs for fantasy guys then moved onto writing thrillers and young adult. Chris lives in Colorado with her daughter, her better half, and BeBe, a rambunctious Bichon.

Chris literally has very few photos of herself, even though photography put her through college. Here she is with her sisters and daughter. Chris is the one with the vino.

Chris started out as an art major, then moved to bio-chem, hoping to play Victor Frankenstein as a genetic engineer or messing with people's minds as a psychiatrist. Just as she was about to graduate, she decided being broke for another four to ten years wouldn't work out for her adventurous spirit and traveling. She ended up with an electrical engineering degree then a masters. As it turns out, she should've finished her first novel twenty-five years ago and stuck in the make-believe world where she is happiest.

  1. Wow! Thank you so much. My head's swelling. Meeting expectations in the books that follow will squash all that though, so it's back to work. Hopefully, you'll enjoy the plot twists coming up for the sequels to Lennon's Jinx and Date with the Dead. Thanks again!
