My Review

This book took me by surprise.  I have always loved books about witches so I knew I would really enjoy this one.  Jessica did a great job on crafting a story that had a lot of romance, adventure ans self-discovery.  Mark of the Witch was beautifully written and well thought out.

When Jilly and Caroline turned thirteen, they received their powers.  Jilly was so so excited about this, but Caroline couldn't accept it.  As the years go by, the family drifts.  Caroline basically doesn't have anything to do with her family.  When a tragedy strikes, Caroline decides to move to New York.  Years later, Caroline gets married and the sisters still aren't close.  Skip a few years later, Caroline finds out that her husband has been cheating on her, and Jillian meets this hot guy named William at her hair Salon.  With Caroline moving back to town , can the sisters fix their relationship together?

I love Jilly as a character.  She is one fierce kick butt witch.  She loves working at her salon with Emily.  Aside from working there, she is also a witch.  She has several clients that she has to make things for.  When she meets William, everything changes.  She feels electricity when they touch.  The only bad thing is that when he shows up, Jillian starts having very bad dreams.  I loved William.  He such a sweet character and I hope to see more of him!!!

I also love that I am introduced to a new supernatural character that I have never read about before.  That intrigued me even more.   Mark of the Witch was a great story!!!  When I get to the end, there is a huge cliffhanger.  Usually I would panic and be very impatient, but I had the second book to read right after, thank gosh.  Can't wait to read the sequel.
