Goodreads Synopsis

Schadoh Aphenithea has always looked up to her older sister and willingly follows in her footsteps, venturing out into the new realm where humans and other strange creatures exist.
Unexpectedly, Schadoh meets Dakota who turns out to be her best friend and protector. With the threat of vampires invading Loxy and Earth, she will need all the help she can get when the portal to her realm is closed. She is forced to remain in the earth realm and live as a human. Something she finds is not quite as easy as it looks from the wall of mists. Schadoh must learn to co-exist in the earth realm while keeping the secret that other realms exist.

My Review

Schadoh has always felt left out.  Her sister, Seriana, kept jumping to the Earth realm to be with a boy she loved.  Every time Schadow tried to open the Realm, Darius would show up.  She didn't understand why it was okay for her sister was aloud to jump realms, but not her.  Then she hatches her plan.  Schadoh decides to sneak through as her sister is closing it.  She isn't there long before Darius gets to her.  The Queen finds out that Seriana has been visiting the Earth realm so she banishes her there.  Schadoh loves her sister so she decides to open the realm herself and follow.  Once she is over, the vampires immediately attack.  Dakota comes to her rescue.  This is when she realizes that Darius is there also.  After the battle is over, they realize the portal to Loxy has been closed.  They have to make life on the Earth realm and live as humans.  Will Schadoh find the adventure that she was always seeking?  Will she be able to live as a human?

I really loved Schadoh as a character.  She was always looking for adventure and I admire her for that.  While living on the Earth realm, she learns and sees so many things she didn't know about.  She also discovers that she can connect with animals while her sister ia a healer.  She also discovers that she can access portals at anytime.  Darius was made her protector because of this.  That was why he happened to know every time she started to open one.  he could feel it.  I thought that was hilarious!!!  I was able to connect with Schadoh as a character.  I was able to feel what she was feeling, see what she was seeing.  That made me love the book even more.

Dakota was one of my favorite characters in this book.  He also became Schadoh's protector as well.  They became best friends.  Dakota is a shifter.  He can shift into anything as long as he has seen it.  Every animal he shifts into is white. I love his personality.  He is one of those type of people that can light a room when he enters.  Darius always came off as the brooding type.  When he is on the Earth realm, I got to see so carefree.  He completely changed.  I really liked him as a character especially as he opened up.  I believe he has feelings for Seriana but he hasn't acted upon them yet.

I loved all the characters in this book.  Believe me, there are so many more.  There is the werewolf pack which I loved!! I loved being able to watch each character grow throughout the book.  The book had so many twists and secrets that I didn't want to put it down.  I absolutely loved it.  I was captivated after the very first page.  I  am very glad to hear that I will definitely be seeing these characters again. I haven't read the other books in the series, but now I am definitely going to.
